What are semi cured gel wraps?
Be apart of the nail revolution with our semi cured gel nail wraps. Semi-cured gel nail wraps are a type of nail enhancement that is partially cured before being shaped and finished.
They are made out of 60% real liquid gel, which gives a glossy, professional-looking manicure without the hassle and mess of liquid gel nail polish or toxic powders. You apply them to bare nails like a sticker and cure them under a UV lamp for around 60 seconds.
How long do Semi Cured Gel Nails last?
My semi cured gel nails have not lasted … what has gone wrong?
There are a several reasons why your semi cured gel nails have not lasted –
Improper nail preparation – Proper nail preparation is essential for your semi cured gel nails to adhere well. Make sure that your nails are clean, dry and free from any oils. An important tip -make sure you clean your nails with the alcohol prep pad. This eliminates oils that could loosen the bond to your nail.
Curing process – If the gel is not cured for the right amount of time under the mini curing lamp, it may not harden properly leading to peeling. If you file your nail again after curing, we recommend curing for another 60 seconds.
Exposure to water – Exposure to water and oils right after application can cause the nails to lift prematurely. We recommend applying before going to bed to ensure proper adhesion.
Nail biting or picking – if you have a habit of biting or picking your nails, this can cause the nails to life prematurely.
Pick the nail wrap that fits your nails. Nail strips that are too big for your nail will increase the chance of peeling prematurely. If you can’t find an exact fit, we recommend choosing a gel wrap that is slightly smaller and stretch to fit on your nail.
Application is key – when you apply the gel wrap, make sure that you avoid contact with the adhesive side of the wrap as this can add oils to the adhesive and reduce the strength of the gel wrap.
When you press on the gel wrap, make sure to leave a small gap between the cuticle and the wrap. Also make sure you roll over the cuticle stick to flatten and give it an extra press. Don’t be afraid to apply pressure when pressing on your gel wraps.
Correct storage – make sure that you don’t expose the gel wraps that you aren’t using to the uv lamp. Any left over wraps, must be placed back into the silver foil bag and stored in a cool dark place.
